Outstanding! (Don’t know what you changed the title FROM, but this has a very moving – scary – message, for sure. And it’s still every bit as much a threat as in the 50’s and 60’s even though we have so many Other Threats these days which fight for center stage.)

I suppose it has its own Dark Humor of a sort… consider Dr. Strangelove; anyway, if they were standing all that close I don’t believe they’d really be there – not anymore. It’s like in the movies, where they all see the Gi-normous Asteroid flaming through the sky… whereas in reality, they say, you wouldn’t see a THING. Except for one final, sudden flash of light (maybe). Either way, well done!!! Hope you’ll add this one to Cutting Edge as well.

  • i would be proud to add this to cutting edge and poeple were sedning be hate mail i think i offened them with the old title lol

Thanks, John! Funny, they will laugh at stuff in movies (which is really not too funny if you analyze it) but if WE try it… ! hm. Pays to be a little sensitive, I guess in choosing titles! No idea what it was before… “So much for that retirement plan”? oh dear Now I’ve offended everybody too! But they would do it on SNL – wouldn’t they! (Saturday Night Live) My theory – I agree with Jimmy Buffet – “You have to laugh or you would go insane!” I guess. :)

  • Its called did you feed the cat, in a atomic exposions the guy is thinking about such mudaine things when the end of the world is right in front of him, lol i thought it was funny what ever, no more hate mail please, Yeah its dark and kind sick> if you seen the real picture they were looking at a set of sail boats and i thought it would be funny if there was a explosion insead, i did not realize it would impact and move people,as artists i guess that what were trying to.

For what it’s worth, it WAS funny! Gary Larsen would have thought so too (remember The Dark Side? Best comic ever done!) :) I believe we are ALL thinking, “Did you feed the cat?” – while monitoring the news for a thousand possible catastrophes. Among my takes on this is Madness at Megiddo, here – a bit of dark apocalyptic humor you may appreciate… or not… music’s pretty awesome though! lol

This is a very moving photo. Both titles are great for different reasons. I guess it comes down to what you want to convey with the art. If I had read the original title first, it would have made me chuckle. The second title makes it very thought provoking, but this is a piece that could have stood alone with no title because it is such a strong image,..I love images that tell a story, and you have definitely achieved this.
