These beautiful, wild plants are striking, especially when they flourish in the Coastal foothills and mountains of Northern California. They grow in moist clearings and even among trees in the forests. The drug Digitalis, which moderates heart rate is derived from the Foxglove plant. Flowers range in color from purple and red to pink and white. In California, the blooms extend from May to September.

Beautiful capture John and I love the natural lighting against the dark background!! You’ve nicely captured nearly all the color range of these flowers!! Well done!!

  • Thank You Blair. These plants were in, among the fir trees. I had to take a longer exposure to capture the colors. It came out very nice. Thanks again for your compliment.

    Beautiful with the black background!

  • Thank You Sandra. I am taking more photos of flowers very early or late, with a timed exposure, to get this effect.
