This was shot down countyline road in Des Moines, Iowa. It was one of those nicer winter days. Cool but not bone chilling cold. The horse had been playing with others as I approached. They were throwing hay up in the air. As you may notice the hay still in the horses mane. I of course could not get the shot of them playing as they quickly noticed me and just watched me. So of course I patiently sat there watching them hoping they would forget I was there and get back to what they were doing. No luck at all with that! So I took this shot as the staring contest was in full swing.

I have been in the photography business professionally since 1992. It all started with school portrait photography. Then from there I have been immersed in wedding photography, senior portraits and family portraits. However my passion is about preserving historical buildings in print. I love architecture, old railroad bridges, abandoned buildings, abandoned homes oh and of course the fun stuff like animals, flowers and landscapes.
