Hi There and Welcome!
I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I have enjoyed diving for and taking them. I’m born & raised in Melbourne, Australia and have always lived close to the sea, as such it has a great attraction for me and I was inevitably drawn to scuba diving. The bulk of my diving is done in nearby Port Phillip and Westernport Bays. I love showing folks the amazing marine diversity that these southern temperate waters support as most people, including locals, don’t have a clue of the treasures under the surface here. For this reason I took up underwater photography in early 2007 and despite being a complete newbie and photographic beginner I’ve managed to get the idea pretty quick (digital photography with its instant feedback certainly helps!)
To begin with I did a fair bit of research looking at what cameras others where using underwater and asked a lot of questions at Dive Oz .
In Feb ‘07 I purchased a point & shoot Fuji E900 in an Ikelite housing + Ikelite DS-125 strobe from Digital Diver in Cairns. I was very happy with results I achieved with that rig and I’m enjoyed the learning curve it provided. I have recently upgraded to DSLR with a Nikon D90 and have sold my faithful E900 rig complete to help fund housing the D90.
Please note that although I try to be accurate when naming the animals and plants I find, I am not a professional and if you have any corrections I’d be delighted to hear from you.
My photostream on Flickr – if you see an image on it you would like to purchase on RedBubble let me know and I shall make it available for you.
