Snowy Owl
Boundary Bay, British Columbia, Canada

January 28, 2012

This is an un-cropped image of a wild Snowy Owl. I actually had to back up several feet to get him (her) to fit in the frame. We had a nice time together and I actually thanked him (and the Creator) for the experience!

I was probably about 15 feet away from this exquisite bird, and shot 360 degrees all around. He was totally calm and allowed me to work with great finesse.

I began shooting in 1980 and switched to digital in 2006, which is when my skills really took off. I shoot primarily landscapes and wildlife, with the occasional sporting event. Being situated in the Pacific Northwest I have access to some of the most spectacular scenery on earth within a day’s drive of my home.
