Waxing nostalgic ( Memories with photos)

A story to go with photos Nostalgic 1, 2, and 3

An old man and his old dog went for a familiar walk tonight, a walk made many times in the past. Both somewhat slower, but still full of love and delight with a tinge of hope and some regret.

We stopped where we always do admiring the scenic view and gave thanks we could still give witness to the beauty. (Photo Nostalgic 1)

Lonely never set in but memories did as we sat and rested on a familiar bench for a while to remember. Remembering times in the past, not wishing to stay there but just to linger a bit in our minds. Thoughts of good times shared, bad times got through and the lady we used to share life, love, and all this with. (Photo Nostalgic 2)

Tears gathered as we recalled the many walks we three made and shared together as life raced by. A sweeter time as I recall it, with the river and times more normal or should I say more acceptable as it seems to be tonight.

The past is good for visiting briefly, to honor it for the lessons learned and failures accepted as just poor choices. Remembering the loving and contented feelings brings them back to savor.

We continued our path to our car that would take us back to the present and passed a young couple starting a similar journey through life. (Photo Nostalgic 3)

I wish for them what we had, what we have been given, and for the lesson of loving and caring.

I wished to share this night with my friends. Friends are a gift we give ourselves and the ability to capture the events artistically, is a gift from God, as all things are.

Oh, Thank you my dear friend for sharing your beautiful evening with us. Yes it is good to remember the love in our life , and hard to see them gone in the physical sense , but it is a part of us, for all of our lives . We still hold them dear, in our hearts and memories. Is that not part of why we opened our hearts to spend the years making the memories ? Sad is , loosing our love to soon to share the memories forever, but love is, God’s strength to allow us to carry on in our life and be able to share our thoughts with our friends and those other special people that we also love.
I am so blessed to have you as my friend Jim , I’ve grown to love you my dear friend ! God Bless and keep you strong ! Beautiful and heart warming photography and love shared
    !!

    Your Friend,
    Maddy
