(Self-?) amusing, creative, hippyish, vegetarian (32 years and counting) who believes in love, laughter and- if all else fails- laudanum. Looking for deep (as well as shallow) conversations and a deeper understanding.
I’m interested in people’s perception of their place in the world and this is a recurring theme in my work, as is seeing the world through the eyes of characters who may be perceived to be unhinged (or ‘different’) for one reason or another. The redemptive nature of love is another motif.
I am in the process of working on two novels- one touched with magic realism and set in Amsterdam, the other centred around a lighthouse. I am undertaking the latter for a PhD at Loughborough University, UK.
Most of the written work I have uploaded here is in the form of short stories written for my MA in Creative Writing in 1996/97. That collection was entitled ‘Love-Bruises.’ I’m fortunate to currently live in Pilton, Somerset, home of the Glastonbury festival. I find a great deal of inspiration in the stunning surroundings and array of colourful characters.
Thanks for checking me out. Have a creative day!
