The 18:22 Light Stream to Birmingham
Long exposure shot with my Contax G2 at a station in Birmingham UK. I hope to expand this image into a series maybe a similar shot on ever station on this line. Ambitious but I would be very happy if I had a collection of similar quality images.
f16
about 30 second exposure.
Kodak Gold 200
Tripod mounted

Great shot Ian – how long did you have to wait to catch a moving one??!
Ian James
Viviane, I was taking picture of trains approaching and leaving the platform on the otherside. This train could me by surprise as it shot through the station and did not stop. I was quick enough to release the shutter and capture it as it flow by.

this is a really nice photo… mind telling which of you cameras you used, and the shutter speed?
Ian James replied
Glad you like it Dogbreath.
The photo was shot with my Contax G2 with a 28mm lense at f16. It was shot on bulb setting with the shutter open for maybe 15-20 seconds as the train shot past.. The film was Kodak Gold 200 nothing flashy.
dogbreath
Thanks Ian… It really is a great shot… I think the colors and the absence of any people on the platform are what makes this one for me!...
