such a cool shot….love how you framed it with the wide view.
peterhoenderdos
rock on
berndt2
Very dynamic shot – excellent timing (I love that the left jumper has gone so high he’s out of frame, and I think the two shadows cast really add to the whole since they melt so well into the darkness on either side of the garage(s) and the ground)
Stacey Hatton
How did you get the image so sharp with a long exposure? Amazing shot.
Ian James
Stacey thanks for your comment. The long exposure was used so that the two people jumping could be shot seperately with a flash gun. So while I was jumping my brother on the left fired the flash gun and then he jumped seperately and I fired the flash gun at him all in the space of about a 3 minute exposure to allow for the flash gun to recharge.

Man I love this.. Great work

I like it when I see an image that has obviously had some thought put into it! well done Ian, it’s a great result!
markhiggins
love this. nice shapes, intensity
and mystery in this.
great shot.
Jason Moses
I should think that this has already gone somewhere. The framing is excellent; likewise the theatrical lighting. Not that there’s anything wrong with Photoshop, but I do like seeing things done the “old-fashioned” way.
Jen Cannella
Brilliant!!!
paulevelin
superb composition
love it
ElRobbo
Kung fu at its whackiest!
Great innovation, Ian!
Perhaps this style of photography is worth exploring more!?
Well done!
Ian James replied
Thanks ElRobbo. I have lots of ideas which would fit in with this style. I think of all my images this is one of my favourites. All I need now is sometime to materialise my ideas.
ElRobbo
I hope your ankles are OK after the landing!
Ian James replied
Just about. What you cant see in this shot is the crane we hire to lift us out of the shot…...big budget work you know….!
ElRobbo
Verrrrrry sneaky!
You shouldn’t give away your trade secrets, you know – Mr. Lee!
Kristal
oh now this is cool! what a beauty!
Glenn Storey
another great image, this could easily be an advertising pic for a cool jeans label…........
Ian James replied
Thanks Glenn for your kind words. I think it would be cool on an advert too…if only.
Glenn Storey
never say never (or if only)
you never know who could be on here looking for new talent and ideas.
good luck with everything, i definately have to get a digital SLR soon.
really wanna get out there and get snapping.
Ian James replied
Your right Glenn.
You should get out there and get shooting. You don’t have to shoot digital the majority of my images like this one are shot on film with a Contax G2. I have only recently got a DSLR but just don’t have the time to use it.
dinghysailor1
absolutely brilliant!
:)
Irish
GREAT!
Arnold Isbister
great shot….and a lot of positive comments; was this featured? if not, it should have been…..
Haley Higgins
so clever! how long was the exposure?
the accuracy of this exposure is unbelievable.
film photography is so exciting!!!
Ian James replied
Haley, Thanks for your comment. The exposure was about 3 minutes using two seperate flash gun shots to expose me and my brother seperately. I do love the crispness of film especially from the Contax G2. I just can afford top match the quality with digital which is so frustrating.
avalyn
Terrific shot! and I can see a lot of others think so too!
