I saw these moose feeding in the scrub brush and I knew I didn’t have much time to get a picture before it was too dark. I walked out closer to the moose to get a better photo and they stood and posed for a few minutes before heading off. Lucky for me that they left because by the time I got back to my truck I had already frozen my hands. I got a touch of frostbite in my thumb but lived to tell about it.
Moose are becoming more and more common in the prairies. Many of these large ungulates are found along the river islands and river hills. They seem to be doing well in this area. Hopefully, I will get more opportunities to photograph them.
