Don’t let the smile fool you. This migrant hawker dragonfly had an unfortunate encounter with the invisible backyard window of photographer Jim Hoffman. With a broken thorax and zero movement, all signs pointed to an end to this dragonfly’s circle of life.Hoffman decided to take advantage of the situation and used his Canon macro lens to squeeze off a few close-up still lifes. After moving it to a mirror to add depth and catch a reflection, the dragonfly slowly began to reanimate and quickly flew off, despite its injuries, with a revived sense of life.It looks like there was a happy ending after all.

Super shot Jim, what lens are you using, looks like a mpe65 .
