Cloud Drama at sunrise, Dead Vlei, Namibia, Africa. Canon Eos 5D Mark II, Canon 16-35mm L lens.
Dead Vlei, Namibia, Africa. Dead Vlei means dead marsh or lake. It is the name of an awe-inspiring white clay pan situated in the salt pan of Sossusvlei, in Namibia. It is estimated that these acacia trees have been dead for more than nine hundred years. Frozen in time, their twisted and contorted branches immovable even against the occasional breeze.

Clouds as an extension of the dead trees – love the composition.

  • Many thanks Dan, the clouds didn’t stay around for long unfortunately! ;)
