Namibia is one of Africa’s hidden treasures. Home to one of the oldest and driest deserts, the dunes of the namib desert rise over 1000 feet in height. The sand permeates everything and Mother Nature is ruthless against all who try to inhabit the desert. This is photograph was taken at sunrise from a hot air balloon over the Sossusvlei sand dunes. The dunes seemed to go on forever and the colours were forever changing as the sun changed position. In the foreground are fairy circles, a strange phenomena unique to this area. Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon 70-200m L lens.
