Haha yeh I had no idea they even existed until I saw some of Naomi Frost’s work on here and was amazed by it.. I picked mine up pretty cheap, $32 from eBay including postage for a Hoya R72

I can’t believe you didn’t have a tripod and this was your first attempt – I have been trying and failing miserably… this is so sharp too… can I ask what setting ou had the camera on and what sort of camera you are using??? well done!

I use a nikon D40 and i had it on aperture setting, and i believe i had the aperture set to about 5.. the reason it worked out well in terms of not having a tripod was that i was actually lying down on the top of a ramp at the skatepark to eliminate shake..

Wow, you have a crapload of comments don’t you? We all love an IR shot. The images are always so out of this world, they’re hard not to be fascinated by. What I find interesting about that it’s.. a skatepark.. with graffiti.. and yet it’s a really dream-like image. I think that’s neat. It’d look bizarre if there were skaters there. Well done. And for 30 bucks? Nice investment.

From the thumb I thougth this was a winter landscape, with beautiful white frost on the trees , toned pink maybe in PS…..........I was going to write : Looks like wonderful pink blossoms…......then I thought a moment…......wait a minute, Jeremy lives in Australia …....these ARE blossoms…..

What surprises me a bit is that you would use a tripod on a shot like this…...........do you really think you would need one ?
We use tripod only for night shots or when the light is really bad…......

Yep definitely needed a tripod because, despite the fact it was midday, the infrared filter blocks out almost all visible light.. therefore it is the equivalent of shooting a scene at midnight with no moon.. And these actually aren’t blossoms at all.. they are non-flowering, green leafed trees, the white look is all part of the IR filter’s effect..
I am very glad that my photo was good enough to make you think it was an actual landscape, that actually means a lot haha!!
