I don’t really care for flowers but this is darn good photography.
(once again!)

Terrific depth too. I learned this from the pros: offcenter! They said never (ever)
center something perfectly in the middle of the shot, because it confuses the brain,
and the eye doesn’t know which side to go to. No matter, this is flipping awesome…heh.

Beautiful shot Jeremy. The beads of water and dark background really work well for this shot.
By the way, I read a comment about being off centre… actually the focal point on this shot is the middle of the flower, the petals are acting as a leading line, so when you look at it closely, the photo IS actually off centre.

Thanks a lot mate.. Um from what i can find on the computer the focal length was 55mm and the exposure was 1/640.. Sorry but i just cant remember the aperture and cant find the EXIF data anywhere..

This is so much more interesting than your standard close up flower shot. It is not a perfect flower, and it is this imperfection, with the rain drops and droopy petals, that make it a lovely shot. The shallow depth of field is very appropriate, as is the colour combination of foreground and background.
