Structure and Depth by Jeffrey Hamilton
Clear

On my last day at the Inbetween Festival earlier this year I climbed a mountain, taking my drawing materials with me, and found some really interesting subject matter

So I’m now in my 60’s [how did that happen?!] and I feel I’ve finally hit my full stride- thought there’s still a stretch ahead! Born and lived all my life in Sydney, and loving it. Graduated from the National Art School (Randwick TAFE and East Sydney campus) in 1974 with a Diploma in Interior Design, worked for 3 years at Taronga Zoo as their Staff Artist, then took an apprenticeship with the stained glass master Stephen Moore. In 1982 I left his studio to take up private practice.

    lovely, wish I could draw!

  • well, my response to that is, you can! if you really want to, just start. no need to show anyone one; no need to feel daunted or embarassed. grab some soft pencils or charcoal and a cartridge pad and start sketching what it is that really grabs your attention. drawing is looking with your fingers. and it’s so satisfying, you’ll be amazed how absorbing it can be
