I posted the original image of Lister’s big face-on-the-wall some time ago. This morning I had a coffee on the roof and spotted this rather colourful addition. No idea if it was LIster himself or some other dude having a shot, but now that I actually compare the two it appears it could be a case of the original artist buffing out some overpainting and making good.

Nov 2010 and it’s still there in all it’s redness. The piece is on the rooftop of Hibernian House in Elizabeth St, Surry HIlls (Sydney, Australia) It’s so huge it can easily be seen from down in Kippax Street.

So I’m now in my 60’s [how did that happen?!] and I feel I’ve finally hit my full stride- thought there’s still a stretch ahead! Born and lived all my life in Sydney, and loving it. Graduated from the National Art School (Randwick TAFE and East Sydney campus) in 1974 with a Diploma in Interior Design, worked for 3 years at Taronga Zoo as their Staff Artist, then took an apprenticeship with the stained glass master Stephen Moore. In 1982 I left his studio to take up private practice.

  • ah, is that the trick!? I did submit this to the group when I first posted but was rejected. I’ll make the alterations and submit again. I thought it was a great image too :-)
