Latest Restoration Project

My replacement (6x firings… should have only been 5x but I left off a couple of important lines) and the original fragments waxed up on a glass plate. I use beeswax to adhere the fragments into position, then place the new piece of glass on top and trace thru, on a light table. Hence the line work is referred to in the trade as the trace line. What great detail you have captured the old glass perfectly. A shame about the damage to the old one, but a great opportunity for you.

yeah, people make the stupid suggestion that I should go round throwing rocks with a business card attached :-) as if! hard to understand the mindless vandllism that does go on. but yes it is a great opportuinity for me to hone my skills. each restoration job is a challenge, where i have to get inside the head of the original artist, learn new techniques, experiment until I get it right
