This is the Autumn Red of a Black Gum Tree (Nyssa sylvatica). Also known as Tupelo or Black Tupelo, it is a medium-sized deciduous tree native to eastern North America. The limbs of these trees often deteriorate early, and the decayed holes make excellent dens for many species of wildlife like squirrels, honeybees, raccoon, and opossums. But in this photo, I don’t believe that any wildlife can be seen. :)

Beautifully captured, with grace and color!
Very dramatic with that angle and those colours. Lovely.
