this is beautiful! I am in SC for vacations right now and I just can’t go in the forest because of all the snakes. this is too bad, I’m sure I could find nice mushrooms specimen here. well done sir ;)
If you decide to visit the forest, find a well traveled trail and stay on the trail. Wear boots. Remember that snakes are afraid of humans. Always go onto the trail with at least one buddy. Talk or sing. You will probably not see a snake at all.

I saw one yesterday (and I was expecting that so much cause I really like snakes). when back on Internet, I identified the specie as a non venemous snake. it was a rat snake about three feet long. I was so happy! thanks for the tips
Oh, the rat snake is a good one! It helps keep the poisonous snakes away. I like snakes too but I also don’t like snakes. I love to learn about them and find them so fascinating but I can only look at them for short periods of time. When I see one in real life, I find them mesmerizing… if they are way over there. The last time I saw a snake it was a black rat snake and it ran from me, stopped and looked at me from a safe vantage point. It raised its head from the ground about a foot and where was my camera??? Not glued to my hand as is usual. Never saw it again. But what an awesome sighting. Have fun in SC! Happy snapping!
