Nor any other dainty day

Offered in an airy breeze
On limpid stamen shoe-trees
Free to shoeless wee folk, barefooted fairies

Fly, they will, with feet unclad
Toes will tingle just a tad
When shoes to feet they will add

Story-book shoes of powdery soles
Tagless footbeds and soft insoles
Flexible fit every fairy extols

Slippers coated with golden fairy dust,
Hard to say which are the coolest
Except perhaps those adorned with wanderlust

I’m just saying

Day-lily blooming
Time for playing
