A Bolivian Red Howler Monkey (Alouatta sara) from Zoológico El Refugio in Samaipata, Bolivia.
This species of Howler Monkey is endemic to Bolivia. Howlers have a unique bone called the hyoid bone that aplifies their vocalization. Their roar like call is the loudest of all land animals and can carry for over 3 miles.
