Damp blue shutters of sound spill softly past glass in reflections of fish and food, past flying fragments of paint, past ever-present falling raindrops, past wood and stone and rust and time and lands on a pier which cradles a couple slowly strolling, bonded casually, yet intensly by linked arms. One thinks of the beat of music bouncing off of the skyline on the opposite side of the bay. The other hears a mother’s cries, a child’s cries and the echo of memories. Thoughts collide in the sheltering mist enfolding all and blending it in a serene smoothie.

Wonderful blue landscape. I like the thoughts of the couple, together yet alone/different. Indeed a mist brings everything closer or closed down, muffling and distorting the crash of waves. Evocative painting John.

How masterfully you manage mood with palette here John. Did I write “manage”? Hmmmm… perhaps I should have written “conjure”? Or “imagine”? Or “communicate”? Regardless the poetry of your prose sit like a screenwriter’s directions for an over-voice… gently enhancing this cinematic moment… Wonder-filled.
