A tree fell in the forest and called out “Help me. I’ve fallen and I can’t get up. Does anyone out there hear me?”
A green wind wandered past and wet its lips to the sound of a whistle or a bird song or a whine from an insect’s wings. It flowed about the branches and surrounded the tree in luxurious velvet tones of green. Then it fled into water and washed past the daylight. The tree was simply glad that someone was listening, though it still couldn’t get up.
