Street breezes crossed the yellow sunlight and darted through tree branches that laced across broken windows, daydreams and the music of footsteps across concrete dancing sidewalks that swam in twisted reflections of the ribbons of purple tree limb shadows that wrapped the glass and peeling wood and broken brick as if it were all a big gift for a little day that was ending. The face that looked out of the window was unseen by the passing photographer. He wondered if that meant he did not really exist. Then the thought passed and he continued sweeping. Unseen. Unknown.

I love how you have described in word something that happens often and is seldom noticed. The image is a perfect match to the words. You have such a way with words, John. The image has such ambience and mood. Lovely painting.

  • thank you so much for your comment. much appreciated

I was wondering. Do you include your written words with the paintings that your sell when you have an art exhibit?

  • I have wanted to do that but haven’t ever gotten organized enough to do it. that’s something I really need to work on

Well, first of all you should know that your line, “He wondered if that meant he did not really exist” has instigated a very heated discussion between me and myself, (One of us being He and the other asking the questions – and those rolls changing occasionally). There’s been no conclusion as of yet and no real end in sight, but meanwhile it’s nearly impossible for us to focus on the actual painting – other than to admit that we love the shadows and that awesome light!

  • thanks as always for your comments. I’m reading a book about the holographic universe that must be affecting what I wrote.
