Topped by seeds from clouds that blew summer away, the dark needle of dawn crept along the shore. Windy water dribbled over longing for immersion in yesterdays song of light. The band played in a distance. It was not a marching tune, though I hiked to its beat. It was a plaintive melody that hung in the hair with rain drops. Feathers of sound that collided with colors of love and wrapped about the tree tops like a ribbon. Ready to be opened by an unseen hand.
