Rainy Memory
Rain drizzled though crystals of mountain air. Clear, cold, clean. It seemed as if the air and water blended together seamlessly. I stepped over wet rock, through damp, glistening foliage. I pull aside a branch with glowing blue petals to focus on the lake. The harder I tried to see clearly the more blurred my vision became and suddenly I was seeing the landscape as a blank canvas. Memories paraded across the hillsides, swam through the sparkles on water, and danced in the mist.
Reality merged with memory. Time stood still.

This image draws up memories for me; walking through light forests and meadows at dawn, the misty stillness causing feelings of fear and intrigue. Your painting captures the feeling perfectly. I like the line, “The harder I tried to see clearly, the more blurred my vision became …”.

There is a richness in your art, as there must be a richness in your life and soul, John. With each work I am transported for a few moments to the place I need to be. I am glad to see you back, bearing wondrous new gifts.
