I’ve been folding lately.
This corner of my mind
to that corner
creating origami landscapes
for thoughts
with deep crevices
for the devil to hide in
and edges
of ideas
so sharp,
you could hurt yourself on them.
I’ve scrunched up failures
and thrown them in the bin,
pushed cranes
across a sea of light
and I’m watching my dreams soar
in the form of paper airplanes,
all pointy nosed
and determined
and I think
I’m able to tend
to the tiny paper cuts
on my fingers
all by myself.

this is so incredible .. brilliant metaphor xx
Adrian Carmody
There are a few people out there, who would LOVE to share a quiet sip with you… so you forget about all those little cuts for an hour or two :)

Jess, if you were origami, you’d fold in to a beautiful tulip! :D
Great work!
Yasemin Sumner
The opening is indeed so wonderful. I love that strong short first sentence especially. This is a darling little folded up thing, and I am going to put it in my pocket. xx
Susan Trigg
Beautiful piece – I’ll hold this (or is that fold this) in my head and keep it with me for inspiration :)

Great metaphor at the centre of all this, and it’s not mushy like papier mache at all
Jessica Tremp replied
doesn’t make as much mess either ;)

Brilliant, Jess…..a stunning metaphor….

wow! you have the gift of being able to tell stories with words that make pictures. making sense of what is inside my head and trying to convey it to the rest of the world is a mission! love it!

This is so delicate and beautiful, yet so infused with strength and joy, that I’m suprised you can’t see me beaming from your flat a few kilometres away….I truly love this, Liebchen…and you. x

jessica…thank you lovely for the Bmail – even though the reason we are both writing it well, I wouldn’t wish it for either one of us. But this piece here, its utterly beautiful and it makes me take a soft intake of breath when I read it. You are so crazy talented…

I’m not saying anything new… but I have to chime in with my appreciation for these words, and the fantastic opening line that also caught my attention.
Luke Downes
you are so clever…i love this. it reminds me (most obviously because of the crease and fold thing) of something i wrote called ‘dirt.’ but yours is infinitely better! hope you’ve been well…

what a fantastic metaphor, wonderfully expressed, a concept crafted and presented as flawlessly as a master oragamist’s paper product.
Reading this made me think about poetry as the oragami of language, constructing from the plane medium of vocabulary a multi-dimensional curiosity.
I love it :-)
Alecs Lindsay
so so beautiful

LOL love it. I must have folded my brain up like that sometime in the past…
Peter Lusby Ta...
You are one of the most original poetic artists that I have come across in 2 months of looking at RB. You say nothing about yourself but I hope you are a professional artist in some field- so that others may see-read and enjoy your work.
Rhinovangogh
Wow! You rock! I am an instant fan!!!!! Love how you do it!

oh goodness, the flow and beauty of all of your works has enlightened me, makes me want to write more and more! you write with such passion and trust that we all find the wonder within what you do. You must be a lovely, intelligent person to be able to do what you do, and this piece is just another vision of your wisdom.
math-ilda
oh, no, not just, I didn’t mean just. just is an unacceptable word that means little, yet we use it so often. i mean, another wonderful, stunning, amazing, gorgeous piece.
Jessica Tremp replied
thank you so much Mathilda x
