man, this is great, great great!!!! i can see this one ging popular hee he. it reminds me of something, but i cant find it in my head… its a powerful image
Gorgeous Jessica! Love the lighting, in fact the scene reminds me of old world, but I’m sharply brought back to the present by the way the anguished girl is dressed. Great mix of emotions.
Impressive shot Jessica. I love it when image makers take risks and present a photo which portrays a disturbing or puzzling image. I’ts almost like a photo of despair or defeat for me. Nice to see some shade amongst some of the more brighter or happy snaps around the bubble..

The Title tells the whole story Jessica. 10/10 from me. R
Dunno why I never saw this one Jess!!!!! It’s just as emotional as Anguished II. Funny, though … for me this would be the second in the series … it seems after the other, but only because of the way I read the emotions for them :) :) I love these Jess, they are really well thought out :)
jessicat
Thanks Craig :) I didn’t really think too much about line of order on these, but thanks for pointing it out, love to get some constructive critisiscm occasionally.
hi jess.. caitlin told me to look up at all your work.. pretty good stuff .) really like the whole idea of this website as well..so thought i might sign up .) must say this photo is my fav though.. very emotional very romantic very dark. .)) we should all do some work together .)
This is a passionate and honest shot that i stared at for long moments… in compassion and empathy, in fraternity. I have kept track of your work but somehow missed this piece. You are valuable. you are gifted. i hope that your sadness does not cripple you as it has, many times, crippled me and many of those i love. Some of whom i have lost. the funniest fucker i have ever known included. miss him still, weird bastard. i have chronic bipolar… but it is better now than it has been since it first swept me into the cold as a strange wild/solemn boy. i wish for hope for you; in your despair from where i see you in the stark beauty here… you are beautiful, and this too shall pass. or at least its nature will CHANGE.
thank you for yur courage in posting this and other works matching its passion and veracity.
i have tried to be as honest. i hope i am.

hey jessica, i reckon this is one of my alltime fave shots on RB…its exactly how i feel after a long days or nights work!...& its just cool without being in your face yet sexy…just love it:)
just so you know hon:) i teach what i love & am vey lucky i just fell into it, i never imagined lecturing…..i saw an add wanting lecturers 7yrs ago with no experince teaching in photography at kvb & went for it, i was a kid myself at 26 teaching! but im still there now & that led to other lecturing at sydney uni & so many other opportunities….
people love my work at gallery openings etc (but i dont sell big, sometimes if at all!) unless im commissioned to do a peice…& having exhibitions in the places i know i’ll get noticed is either very expensive (i cant afford to) or i’d get knocked back for being too different, alternative, not established, whatever…& ive never had media reviews so huuuuuuuuuuuuuge credit to you for getting noticed for your incredible work jessica as that comes from the heart & doing what ‘you love’.
it’s amazing how things just fall into your lap at the right time isn’t it? thanks for taking the time to write such an in depth comment. It’s fascinating how everyone here is from so many varied backgrounds…
i agree, i think opportunities also come when you’re ready:) it is fascinating to see so many varied creative backgrounds here…i love supporting creativity.
I agree, this is an awesome piece. It made me smile to see that there is not picture in the picture frame above her. I like that, adds meaning that may or may not be intended.
Oh!!!, By the way….......that model with the DYNAMITE body doesn’t hurt your fantastic artistic interpretation either, Jessica!!!!!!! (That’s a compliment) LOL!!!!!
A perfectly constructed shot. I would like to see this in a series. I feel like her surroundings have become tiresome, she feels anxiety about the world around her.
There’s such a contrast between the two elements here – the girl, presumably young and obviously distraught, and the stately antique which seems utterly indifferent (mostly because it is an antique). I find myself imagining that this was Nana’s favourite chair, and the girl is longing for the simpler happier days of childhood.
Fantastic, moody, brilliant and beyond expressive. I feel like this everyday! There’s a piece of everybody in this photo. Magnificent lighting & olive hues here…
this capture is strong, deep and pure with emotion absolutely love it beautiful angle, soft textures, great use of lighting just outstanding, well done
A great capture, the way you have captured the image could be seen as a number of different things that lead her to this position (situation) in her life. Very powerfull image
yes i am a sillypants. sometimes my silly pants really annoy me. send your stuff to rolling stone i reckon, you’d make it!!! holy crap you should be living in england or the u.s. the art scene in australia is crap. maybe it might change with k.rudd. who knows. you should base yourself in a vibrant crazy place! i guess melb is the arts hub for aus. tangent from “you are”. hahaha.
