I am an amateur photographer working to build and develop my skills. I feel very passionately about photography because of its’ ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, yet it’s always firmly rooted in the real, physical world. Rendering an image of something that exists, but through a unique vision, is an exciting prospect.

I enjoy post-production as well – all my photographs are, at least, touched up for tones, saturation, colour temperature, etc. but I have started exploring layering and texture concepts to explore my interest in the balancing act that is modern man and nature.

I also enjoy documenting human artifacts and I attempt to show the naivite and simplicity of what we do, as compared to nature’s brilliant scope. That said, I am a great admirer of human accomplishment but we have a responsibility to use our ingenuity for the greater, global and natural good.

If I have an ethos in my work, it’s that nature wins. Nature must always win – for it’s complexity, beauty, and permanence. We must do everything in our power to protect the natural world – we are dependent upon it.

Arizona Lily at The Horseshoe, Wed. Apr. 18th, 2012

I have also been focused on my Group Moderation duties more than on my own photography work, anymore! And it’s a pleasure. / However, I’m pleased to announce that, having been working on our album for the past year on an extre…

Arizona Lily at Rancho Relaxo, Sat. Aug. 27

I have been in somewhat a photography hiatus this summer – bursts and starts, really, as usual – and otherwise preoccupied with our band, Arizona Lily, and recording our first self-produced album on a tight budget! Also working on producing our album art, and did a great shoot a few weekends ago with Rhonda at Ontario’s Cheltenham Badlands (one potential piece of album art show…
