I have been debating for a long time and I have been told by several family members to market some of my characters as plushies… I also have been thinking about making buttons (like the ones with the pins in it) at home too. Mostly to sell at like flea/farmer’s markets, etsy.com and such.
Several questions came up and I need my RB ‘peeps’ to help me with…
I have found a company that makes plushies but for that amount they want i can buy the materials and make them myself. Which would be more cost effective? I have done my calculations and its about the same…
Next, does anyone know where I can get a inexpensive button maker?
Also, is the any felt that IS NOT made with wool? I would like for all peoples to have one without worries about allergies…
the fabrics i am considering (if i make it at home) are jersey, fleece and felt. Which would be better?
Should I look for a loan or grant for the costs if i do decide to make them at home?

if you go with a company, you dont have the stress of doing it yourself. id love to know what company you are referring to though…the one i went with ended up toying with me for months…luckily i got my money back though.
id search ebay for button makers…or just type button maker in your search engine…i have a company in my myspace friends list that does buttons, i can give you their link if you want.
most plushies are made with felt bc its not very expensive…but if you buy the cheap grade, it will tear :(
