The early autumn butterfly, that is, not my attempt to show it perfectly. I doubt that will ever happen.
It may take a long time, 15 months in this case, but I do eventually organise myself enough to learn and do new things. I knew the GH2 had an extra tele conversion facility, but I didn’t know how to activate it. Bought a book months ago and this weekend have been experimenting.
The ETC enabled means the 100-300lens is therefore the equivalent of 200-600mm. Turning on the in-camera tele converter extender it seems abou1200mm is possible. A devil to hold steady, but worth a try.
This Comma was high in the tree in Kilburn Road allotments, York, but has needed only a marginal crop.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Congratulations on this new discovery and your successful implementation of the technique! Outstanding work!

  • I’ve been playing again today and getting some incredible close ups. It’s just so hard to hold the camera steady, but it will hopefully be useful in February/March when the Grebes start courting at the University. The nests are always far from the edge of the lake and even 300 (600mm equivalent) isn’t enough.
    Many thanks, Bonnie
