You’re very brave to have hung around and taken his picture, I’d have been long gone!! Great beak detail :)

  • We’d gone Grebe hunting at the Uni now the Blue Tits have fledged. You can’t move for geese, Greylags, Canadas, Barnacle, Lesser Snow…didn’t find the Grebe babies either, just aggressive geese! LOL

wow – great shot – if it had tonsils we’d be able to see them!!

  • They can be scary little beasties, can’t they? And they are fearless in spring and early summer, defending mate/nest/babies. We try to avoid them but they seem primed for attack.
    Thank you

Give that girl a medal for standing her ground and capturing this fabulous close up – well done, Jesika xx

  • They don’t scare ME says she, hiding behind 2 small dogs who are hiding behind her!!!!!!!!! LOL I remember one of the campus ducks launching himself from his hiding place behind a bush – we hadn’t seen it – and biting my Darling SirSam on the bum – oh the great indignity of it. He wouldn’t walk near bushes for the rest of his life…
    Thanks, Mattie
