I support Butterfly Conservation.

I stopped to think 10 years ago, and forgot to start again.

174 years old and can easily pass for 90, on a good day, in the fog, at night!.

I live in York, an ancient city in the North of England.

I try to make the perfect image, knowing that I can’t and won’t. If I ever did achieve perfection, what would I have to strive for…..?

The best camera is the one you have with you

It is not possible with mortal minds to search out the purposes of the gods.

The more I learn, the less I know.

“Butterflies adorn the world and delight the eye”
John Ray (17th century naturalist)

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Success is often measured in how you overcome adversity
Rosie Lee

“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.”
Helen Keller

“This above all – to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”

Hamlet (William Shakespeare)

“The best and most beautiful things in the world, cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart” Helen Keller

George Moore 1852-1933
“Man travels the world in search of what he needs, returns home and finds it.”

Nostradamus 1503-1566
“Time is nothing, the desire to love is everything.”

“This is the path I have chosen, no matter what circumstances may come, no matter how hard it is, no matter what I feel inside, I must stay on the path.”

This sky where we live
Is no place to lose your wings.
So love, love, love.

Hafiz حافظ

Human beings are members of a whole,
In creation of one essence and soul.
If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.
If you have no sympathy for human pain,
The name of human you cannot retain.

“Of one Essence is the human race,
thus has Creation put the base;
One Limb impacted is sufficient
For all Others to feel the Mace ”

—Saadi (1184–1283)
