How daft is THIS????????

I’m not entirely sure how I did this. I know I took away the background from the tiny Small Copper butterfly, perched it on some leaves floating in the lake & fiddled with some layer stuff. It’s just for fun, not a serious attempt at layering, but it’s a beginning. The butterfly should have a reflection, one day it might, if I can figure it out. I don’t think I can do this again as it was all just playing and I can’t remember the sequence of events, but who knows where it will lead?

This sky where we live
Is no place to lose your wings.
So love, love, love.
Hafiz حافظ

Human beings are members of a whole,
In creation of one essence and soul.
If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.
If you have no sympathy for human pain,
The name of human you cannot retain.
Saadi

“Of one Essence is the human race,
thus has Creation put the base;
One Limb impacted is sufficient
For all Others to feel the Mace ”

Too much honesty, Jesika. Before I read your narrative, I thought you had actually captured the image “as is”, and was just about to write about all the featurings and comments you would be getting. That said, your composite work is also outstanding, even if you don’t know what you did, LOL.

    cool!
I am still new to this (you are ahead of me)- is removing the background an automatic feature of the software you are using??
The only way I know of doing that is to try to trace a line around the object (the butterfly in this case. not an easy job!) and then deleting the rest of the image…

I was astonished this morning to see this had had 82 views, 23 comments and 4 favourites. It would normally take my postings weeks to earn so much attention.
Bonnie had planted the seed of the idea in the summer, but I lacked the software & skills. Thank you, Bonnie. Thank you, Barb for encouraging & tutoring.
Thank you all for looking and commenting, not only on this, but when ever you have found the time to view and comment, I very much appreciate the support.

    You deserve if Jesika.
It is a very good attempt… accomplished …fully. I love the way the little butterfly has one leg in the air…as if afraid of not knowing where she has posed. Dazzled by the sun, she has lost her way… and then…oh.. so close to the water…what world is this?

Great work! I bet you can figure out the Butterfly reflection. Try duplicating the background layer of the finished shot, turn it upside done and, using TRANSFORM, skew or perspective it. Then erase all but the reflection and reduce the opacity. Just a suggestion as this is such a good image the butterfly reflection would make it perfect!
