Holly Blue butterfly laying an egg on a holly bud. The autumn brood lays eggs on the flower buds of winter flowering ivy.
Celastrina argiolus is 12-18mm and distingushable by the black dots and short streaks on the silvery underwing. There is no orange. It flies March to October.
