Beautiful clouds and emerald sea and you will have “les pieds humides” if you walk on the beach .Is this the name of the place or did you create the title?

  • Mark Bowden replied

    Hi Betty,

    I hope you are well?

This shot was taken at Greve de Lecq beach which is out the very north west of the island.

I had my tripod set up on the edge of the shore line avoiding the sea, suddenly a gush of water raced up the beach leaving me standing up to my knees in water before it receded.

Fortunately I was ready to take a shot and captured the receding water, but ended up with extremely wet feet. Hence the title.

I’m glad, as always, for your visit and kind words.

Now that is seriously good Mark!! Love how you got the water. I love everything about this shot! :)

  • Mark Bowden replied

    Thank you Thordis,

I am pleased you liked this watery shot, it was worth getting my feet soaked.

Brilliant Mark. Love what the slow shutter speed has done to the sand & water.

  • Mark Bowden replied

    Hi Gail,

Thanks for the visit and kind words.

I had to pop on a 3 stop grad filter to slow things down,

I am happy with the result of the 1.3 sec exposure.

    Thanks

Nice one Mark. This came out really well. Does it have the woosh woosh effect you were trying to describe?

I get extra gratification from this picture knowing I was there to watch as the surf race up past you and your tripod soaking you and leaving me laughing my head off.

  • Mark Bowden replied

    Hi Mal,

I was looking for a bit more woosh, but that will have to wait for another day.

Must get back to work now. :)

Lucky to have saved yourself and your equipment there Mark. You can never trust the sea! An old fisherman friend of mine once told me ’ never give your back to the sea, no matter how calm it is’. I guess he was right. Beautiful image here my friend. Fantastic colours. Your filter and timed exposure certainly did their job. Well done.

You must have a very good tripod for it not to move when the water hit it during a timed exposure.
I’m in the market for one. What are you using currently?
    Stunning image…just love it.
Fun to have such a great story to go with it too…giggle all the way!

  • Mark Bowden replied

    Hi Debbie,

Thanks for the visit, comments and thinking this shot is worthy of your favourites folder.

I use a Manfrotto 055 tripod, it does the job for me and wasn’t over expensive.
