Courtesy is a divided highway
lest it resemble expectation
on demand. To understand

matters of navigation consult
a map, one developed after
the population is established

and the landscape is a mirror
of man’s keyhole visualization.
Much is gauged by transposing

such information onto grid paper
by tracing and then retracing
hard-set lines. Yet if this were

a geography lesson – and in all
practical senses it could be one –
the legend would enclose the key.

Courtesy seems to be a thing of the past. I really like "expectation on demand. Interesting write.

  • Sometimes those types of expressions just come out in raw form. This first sentence was the spark of last night’s meditations. Seems like people are demanding a lot of things these days on their one-way streets. :P Glad you enjoyed that. :) xox
