Courtesy is a divided highway
lest it resemble expectation
on demand. To understand
matters of navigation consult
a map, one developed after
the population is established
and the landscape is a mirror
of man’s keyhole visualization.
Much is gauged by transposing
such information onto grid paper
by tracing and then retracing
hard-set lines. Yet if this were
a geography lesson—and in all
practical senses it could be one—
the legend would enclose the key.
