Global Warning: A Prophecy

We only had moments to pack our bags. She’d already been through our stuff, though.

My eyes continued being drawn to the clever little places she’d hidden my prized possessions. One by one, I retrieved only the most valuable items without anyone noticing.

Unaware of my scavenger hunting, June just kept grabbing things off the wall to throw into her bag, while May worked on fitting the china set into her tote – her weeping getting under everyone’s skin.

“You’re all fools!” She breezed past.

I smiled through my nervousness and led the girls through the back door. That was close!
