Journal Entry: Porfolio Cover Art (the beginning of a learning journey) by

This will act as the picture I would post on a fridge or mirror, to remind me of where it all began, and to gauge the progress of learning with the encouragement of roots. I only wish there was a way to post pictures in a journal entry instead of art.

I’m a tireless spirit who strives to uncover humanity’s heartbeat through poetry & prose. My vision is to leave a legacy of words that will imprint a pathway for future generations. As a metro-Detroit writer & Solstice MFA in Creative Writing of Pine Manor College student, it’s critical I’m active & thriving in my community through multiple creative outlets. I’m Executive Editor of Pink Panther Magazine, which promotes multicultural art & poetry concerned with today’s feminist issues.

    Superb…..wonderful …magnificent…& loving:))Sure

  • I’m not sure if I mentioned that I’m finishing up my BA in Creative Writing and Rhetoric, but this is the cover I created for a writing portfolio last term. The words are either title names, or significant words from work within the portfolio. I enjoyed this project so much, I can’t wait to study more word art and put my findings to practice. You are too kind with your wonderful words of encouragement, Sure. :)

It’s perfectly fine to post this as art – it IS art! I love it! I mean, I loved it before, too, but it’s really cool to see it on the computer.

  • Have I told you today how much I love you?!? =D I know what you mean about seeing it in the computer. I’m impressed with how well it scanned, considering the black dominance. It just would be nice to post picture attachments in other places, and don’t even get me started on the formatting improvements needed. Can someone say “Spacing and tabs are a basic free verse utility?” I can’t even post half of my stuff because it doesn’t make sense without the spacing. But, hey, there’s my inspiration to putting those pieces to art! And, perhaps I need to get over my own insecurities about posting on the art section. To confidence — Solute!

Ah, indeed, a problem like that online can only be answered by art – and is a great way to inspire you to move further and further ahead! Here is to confidence and learning – cheers!
