Crazy lady with a camera! Tacoma/Seattle area professional portrait photographer.
The things we put ourselves through for that amazing shot LOL! Glad you took the pelting, it was well worth it.

lol… It’s all worth it once you get that shot! Nicely capture, Jen!
I agree!!! Thank you, Daniel! ;)
Thanks Kathy!!! ;)
Awesome job! I see it’s listed in the challenge for High Energy. I like that you have the lightning and the power lines….two sources of high energy. :-)
Oh, how I long for some great shots of lightning. We had some last night, but I was too slow. [sigh]
Good luck on the challenge!
Thanks!!! I just put my camera on a tripod and just keep clickin that shutter…since it’s at night the exposure time is pretty long. I just hope that lightning strikes while the shutter is open lol! For every bolt I got there are 100 frames of nothing lol! Thanks again!!!
Yes, patience is the key, too. It really paid off for you.
I took 176 pictures of a subject a few days ago, and found just over 60 that worked….so I thought. I checked over them again and ended up with about 26 really good ones. Sheesh! LOL!
Thank you! Congrats on your good shots!!!!
WOW, great lightning capture!! Love the title too!! (On the news this morning, there was a story about a man and woman who were up at Arctic Valley – you familiar with that area of Anchorage, it’s across the highway from Fort Rich – it’s actually part of Ft. Rich – anyway they were up there last night watching the lightning and both were struck, the man was able to walk out but the woman was injured enough that she had to be carried out, I think they were a little crazy to go up there and stand out in the open, but I’ve been around too many thunder and lightning storms back east where I grew up). Take Care ~ Deb ~ :)
I can’t believe you all had a thunderstorm?!?! lol! I saw one thunderstorm in the 5 years we spent in Alaska. I so hope they are ok! I would drive up Artic Valley a lot. Got a few moose shots up there. The view they had must have been amazing though… hope they got some great photos! Thanks again Deb!!! ;)
The majority of wildfires up here are caused by lightning strikes (mostly in the interior though) but we do get "real quick’ thunder and lightning storms in the southcentral area, I guess yesterday’s was a pretty good one. Hopefully we will hear more on tonight’s news as to how they are both doing. ~ Deb ~ :)
