Winter Blues ~ Narrowneck, Katoomba NSWby JennyMac
Boars Head and Narrowneck from Cahill’s Lookout Katoomba… NSW… Australia
Last Saturday I attended a workshop in Katoomba (for work.. not play!)… unfortunately I wasn’t able to stay this time… : ( But before I headed for home I just had to take a quick drive around Cliff Drive and take a pic or two! The weather was far from friendly (and although it doesn’t look it here I was actually being blown away!) but I still thought it was beautiful! So here it is…. not putting on it’s best face… but beautiful none the less… and bloody cold… lol!!
Oh… and this is definitely one of those images that is better viewed large! : ))
Ohhh that sandstone! Beautiful Jenny. I can feel the cold and the late-in-the-day light seeping from this image. You have captured the essence of the scene perfectly.. Makes me very nostalgic.. :-)
Thanks heaps Jeff for your wonderful comment and for the fav also! Did you live here? : ))
Thanks Jenny, that used to be our morning walk when I went to boarding school just down the road, at Katoomba
Hi Arnold… happy it brought back some memories for you! I used to live here but now I have to be content with visits! Thanks for dropping by and the comment… : ))
Ahhhh memories…the wind could blow you right off the cliff there….lol…. This is a beautiful shot.
Thanks Christine… I nearly was blown off the cliff! Hands were frozen too…. but I wouldn’t want it any other way… that’s Katoomba!! So glad you like this one and thanks heaps for the fav too! : ))

It’s a real sight to see of this area isn’t it. Good angle Jen
It sure is Jeff! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to stay this time… I usually have a week up here around this time of year… I’m still working on it this year! I couldn’t leave without a quick drive around the Cliff Drive though… : ))
I feel like jumping in my car and driving straight there — should only take about 12 hours! magnificent jenny!
Thanks heaps Harry! I’d like to jump in my car and drive straight back up there…. but it would only take me about 3 1/2 hours… lol! I had a hard time leaving this time. Stuck in a room all day… so close and yet so far! Still I did manage to satisfy my shutter finger’s itch… hahaha…. : )))
Jenny, I grew up in Lithgow and this part of the Blue Mountains was part of our wider back yard.
We lived in the Upper Mountains and still have family in Lithgow and the mountains. We considered moving to Lithgow at one point but my hubby was way over the cold and the South Coast was more appealing… lol! : ))
