Winter Magic Festival Katoomba 09

The weather for this years Winter Magic Festival was a bit of everything. But even though there was rain and fog and it was cold… it didn’t stop the crowds from enjoying themselves! Late in the afternoon the mist started to roll in and it was getting dark.. a few storeholders were starting to pack up but the street was still full of people. I took a photo at the time because I really liked the atmosphere and then when I had my week away recently, I let myself start to play with it! This is the result so far… I think I would like to try a few other ideas too… : ))

  • JennyMac replied

Wow… you guys are quick! It accidently uploaded before I was finished putting all the info in… just fixed that and here you are already! Gotta love RB…LOL! Thanks Ade for the great comment… I have the urge to draw more at the moment… It’s funny how things just happen when you have the time and headspace to allow it!! You can tell I’m getting addicted to the idea of regular time away… now how can I work that?! LOL… ; ))

Well done Jenny…I really like this. You have captured the mood of the festival and those who attended. The purple light works well although, it got me thinking of Chakras and spirituality…..with a “MAGIC” festival I guess that is understandable ;-)

  • JennyMac replied

Thanks Les… yes that’s never far away at the festival or any other time for that matter! Can’t tell you the fuss that’s been made over the fact that it’s called a “MAGIC” festival… there’s an element who would have preferred it was stopped a long time ago… but the spirit of the festival prevailed (and commonsense) and so it continues today… thank goodness for that… ; )) Hey… would it be suitable for the spirituality group? I thought about it but didn’t know if anyone else would see the connection…

An excellent image on it’s own merit. Many images are nice for the memories they carry. I’m from nowhere near there, and for me this is still a great “cool” picture. Magic it is.

  • JennyMac replied

Thanks so much for that rjcolby… it was a magic day and to me it’s a magic place! I’m so pleased that you can enjoy this even though it holds no special meaning for you… you’ve made my day… : ))

Really beautifull work Jenny. I like especially your attention to the shadows & how they would
fall on the street. Nice detail of the depth as well

Wow Jen i must of missed this one, this is an awesome piece. The way you captured the lighting and reflections in this is wonderful.

  • JennyMac replied

Hi John! I really enjoyed this one… I’ve just had it matted and framed and I’m about to take it down to a local exhibition. The festival is called Escape ArtFest in the Milton/Ulludulla area… they call it 10days of artistic bliss!! Lots on in the local area… though some of us have to work… I’ll still see/do what I can on the weekend… should be fun! : )

Looks like a dream, I think the colours and the pattern of the shadow make it look sort of timeless. I feel a bit moved by this because it says something to me about time and moments past.

  • JennyMac replied

Wow Julie-Ann… I don’t know what to say! That’s such a compliment to know that it has that effect on you… thank you… : ))

  • JennyMac replied
