Liquid Amber

She peered into the pool. It was small and perfectly round. The glassy water surface was still, with no movement. Her face looked back at her; disappointed. But then, suddenly, from the deepest darkest bottom (where ever that was), a blob of colour, about the size of a marble, grew and grew and grew; becoming clearer with each second that passed by. It appeared to be spiralling upward; growing larger and clearer; until to her surprise, a huge wet fish, its mouth open wide, practically kissed her on the nose as it leapt into the air. She pulled her face back quickly. The fish’s scaly body plopped back into the water, where it floated there, bobbing gently up and down for a moment. Then it smiled, and batted its eyelids. Eyelids? It smiled. She looked again. It’s eyes were like liquid amber.

Wow, what a shocker! Interesting journal entry. The beginning of an excellent rough draft, but I wonder if this is going somewhere? Who knows where a train of thought will lead…

Hi, glad you enjoyed reading it! It goes where ever the person reading it wants it to go….I have no intention of taking it further myself. Its a poem…..in fiction form! Thanks for your response though. It is always lovely to get an inkling of how someone else responds to things! Happy Christmas!
