There's not enough time, or is there? by jenny meehan

It has always seemed a tragedy to me, that the older you get, the quicker time seems to go by. Is it unfair? Maybe that is not the right expression, but while wrinkles develop, flesh sags, and feet grow tired more quickly, we want to achieve and do more, (well, I speak for myself). Everything becomes more urgent as it dawns on us more clearly, that life does not go on forever.

I know some people believe in reincarnation, but if it does happen, I won’t be able to do the same things I can do now , when I am a frog. Well, I don’t think I will.

Which brings me on to the value of contemplation.

Now, just stop for a moment.

Don’t read. Here is a nice big space for you, in case you find the text gets in the way.

Ahhh, that’s better.

Of all the things I personally need to do, one of the most important is to take the time…take hold of it with both hands, and do NOTHING.

If you are someone like me, who believes that life is not just about the material things, but has a spiritual dimension, then, it is worthwhile pausing from time to time.

I find it hard to let go of what I am doing. Do you? But it’s a good idea to make a point of letting go. Otherwise, you get to feel after a while that everything has a hold on you, and not the otherway round. You don’t feel free. You can hardly breath. There is toooooooo much to do. Life becomes oppressive.

We all have the same amount of time each day. It goes at the same speed for all of us. It’s what we decide to do with it which counts.
