I was driving through the Adelaide Hills on the road from Gumeracha to Birdwood to visit a friend when I came across this Peacock wandering along the side of the road. By the time I stopped in the next available spot and walked back to take his photo he had turned into this side track. He seemed to know where he was going so I assumed he was heading for home, or maybe he was out visiting too. :-)

Jenny, there’s no reason why peacocks shouldn’t go out for a visit, too. Great company to find on the road as you were going to visit a friend. I love peacocks, they are so beautiful, and you captured this one quite well. – Cora

  • Thanks Cora. Yes, i was delighted to see him free to wander about and do his own thing, including visiting (or returning home from a visit). So often these beautiful birds are confined to enclosures or areas which makes me sad.
