They are great dogs to live with – make life worth while, especially on down days. :-)

He is castrated (easier to spell!!) now, but it wasn’t all that long ago because I did use him (sparingly) as a stud dog and he produced some lovely puppies (Tansy, the Tricolour is one of them). I am hoping his coat will stay nice as it has always been very easy to care for but I know a lot of them go quite cotton-wooly and it is easier and more comfortable for them to have them clipped.

Thanks so much for your comments Nanagahma. Yes, it is hard to get mad at Cavaliers – and don’t they know it!! They do become family members and it is very hard to part with them. Give your little girl a cuddle from me. :-)

Yes it is devastating to lose them, but only because they give so much during their short lives. If they hadn’t been so special and such an integral part of our lives we wouldn’t miss them so badly. Things have a way of balancing out. Great joy is balanced by great sorrow.
