I am the featured artist at Art in the Valley this November. The show opens Tuesday November 1st with a reception Thursday November 3rd. I finish hanging it tomorrow. I’m very excited.

Double Feature on the Homepage.

I woke up this morning to find that I had been featured on the homepage last night:

We had a rough night over here (the dog met a skunk) and this was a beautiful way to wake up. The glass paper weight in the upper left has never been featured before, so it was a double surprise.

Free Tickets To Best of the Northwest Spring Show

I have three admit-two-free tickets to the March Spring Best of the Northwest Art and Fine Craft at Warren G Magnuson Park. Admission is ordinarily $7.00 per person so the tickets are worth $14.00 each. I’ll mail one ticket each to the first three people to send me their Washington mailing address.

Removable Liquid Masking

Because I often pour paintings, a process much like batik dying, I get many questions about masking.

Here is my little stock of information:

1. Mask must be stirred because it separates. But if you shake it you get bubbles which leave holes where paint can reach the paper. Putting a marble in the bottle and rolling it around is the best low bubble stirring method I know of.
