Mahon Pool Dawn
This image was taken at lovely Mahon Pool, Maroubra (South Sydney). I used a 5 minute exposure at 5.10am. There is a slight bit of movement in the image caused by a wave surging past and as the camera was very low to the ground it very nearly got very wet. A little tripod movement didn’t worry me at all – i was just happy to get such the shot! Lucky the water was warm because i got very wet!

Worth the effort, Jennifer! Lovely capture. I have taken so many people (Mainly visitors, from the Netherlands) on my nostalgia tour , showing them where I spent my teenage years, after we migrated to Sydney, in 1956. I tell them about Maroubra Bay High School (Heartbreak High) and the many days spent at the North end of Maroubra Beach and at the Mahon Pool.
