Coincidence of Omen?

Yesterday I spent half the morning listening to a Shrink telling me how I needed to ‘get out and about more’, and the other half waiting for permission to be ‘allowed’ to go out for a short walk – so I got pissed off and absconded.
Coincidentally, while I was walking around the local shopping mall I came across a Central American Native Indian group of men playing music with mandolins, pipes and flutes, (Thanks Clinton for the geography lesson, I had no idea Ecuador was in Central America).
It was coincidental because lately I’ve been feeling a strong pull towards the Native American culture and a yearning to live on a Reservation.
I’ve just felt like selling up all of the materialistic trappings and other millstones which weigh me down and running away to live a non-materialistic life on a Reservation some place.
So it was kinda weird to stumble across the men in the photograph above, particularly as I’d left the Unit without consent and was more than likely going to pay dearly for doing so when I got back, (which in a way I have as they’re cutting back the hours I’m allowed home on leave and are scheduling me into numerous, boring, Occupational Therapy Group sessions, ugh).
The music was hauntingly beautiful, all of it imitating sounds of nature like the wind, water and birds.
The man on the far right of the photograph gave me a free music CD.
I arrived back at the hospital only to be told how a warrant would’ve been issued for my arrest, had I arrived back later than dinner time. A helicopter was circling the perimeter of the building and I couldn’t help thinking of Krisso and our escape plan. :-)
Truth is, I wont be saying a whole lot on here until the meds are sorted and things are feeling semi-okay again, I don’t have time to create any new Art and I don’t feel inspired enough to pen a poem.
And Life in the unit is becoming overbearingly stifling, so I wont be talking about that much either.
I think I’ll just read and appreciate what everyone else has to say for a while, until I find my Muse again.
Ciao 4 Now

I have been on a few reservations in my day… ask me about it.
JenniferB replied
okay, I’m asking you about it. :-)
eon .
Your now becoming the Poetry And you are a wonderful spirit to read too ( ; – ))
JenniferB
That was poetry? I just feel like sitting back quietly and appreciating the works of others for a while. xox
Krisso
I would say a good omen! promising visions perhaps…it was worth the trouble is what I would also say!
xox
JenniferB replied
I think the trouble was worth it too! ;-) It was ridiculous waiting over 40 minutes to be told I could be free to go for a walk, so sod them all, I just went… It was a nice walk and the sun was shining in the middle of Winter for it too! If my time online gets chopped more, my stubbornness and stroppy attitude to the system and staff is the reason for it, in other words, I have only myself to blame and I don’t care! :-P
Krisso
I couldn’t agree more!
deliriousgirl
Heyyyyy, it was a good omen!!! If you come here I’ll go Indian searching with ya!!!
Just remember: please nurture yourself and to thine own self be true.
JenniferB replied
lol… okay, it’s a deal dg! it was kinda weird meeting up with those three men, and getting the cd, ‘specially as it’s been on my mind a fair bit. The music’s nice to… erm…. relax to! ;-)
JenniferB
I have to go now, this music is more like I was listening to.
HERE
April Mansilla
canada as well has beautiful reservations :)
JenniferB replied
I agree April, North America has been on my mind a fair bit lately.
Crowmanic
Couple of things: (1) In the photo of the “Native Am. buskers” the sign on the shop could easily be interrupted as “beWARE THE GIFTS, TOYS…” !! Also, “beware” can be — “be where” and, didn’t you just write, he “gave (as in gift) you a CD ?(2) In the nature of “coincidence”, I recall you writing a few weeks ago about wanting to “go and live on an indigenous community” (or similar) !! [boom, boom] and (3) “spiritual emergencies” are not “mental disturbances” ... perhaps the goddam Westerners and in particular, the so-called Doctors” haven’t got a clue …
Thinking of you JB … take care, all-ways …
JenniferB replied
Yep, I did just recently write about wanting to live on a reservation Crowmanic, so it all kind of linked together kind of perfectly, considering I’d absconded from the unit without permission and got admonished for it on my return, it was a great day! :-)
WayneD
You are an absolute classic Jennifer! Priceless.
JenniferB replied
nah… I’m just li’l ole me, jennifer b, but thanks WayneD. :-)
Jaybe
Let’s set up our own Indian reservation – sounds like a plan to me….I’d be there like a shot.
JenniferB replied
Oh I would if I could Jaybe, but it might be easier to be accepted as a guest and helper on an existing one.

Wendy Slee
Well I believe you put it “out there” that you truly desired to learn more about the traditional culture of Native Americans and the universe is already delivering tiny clues….. seems to me that your “hookey” from the hospital was meant to be….
I too love that style of music….. it is so uplifting and meditative…..
I hope you enjoy your CD immensely…...
JenniferB replied
Thanks for your email Wendy, and yes, the indiginous Indian music really is soothing and uplifting, it was kind of him to offer me one for free, I would have paid, but I only had plastic! Anyway, I get the idea he may have been insulted had I offered him money.
lolowe
Wow, that is a coincidence, i can relate to how you are feeling, and the hauntingly beautiful music of another can bring those desires so much more quickly. It comes from the soul after all :]
I hope everything turns out ok Jennifer <3>
JenniferB replied
everything will turn out fine in the end lorna, thanks. :-) xox
Aurora Pintore

The American Native Indians and their history is an example to us all A! No matter what society did and how much they wanted to destroy their heritage, traditions and beliefs; they could not. They never will! All Indigenous Cultures have suffered the same fate, yet their strength and determination continues. All these centuries have passed and their Spirit has not wavered. This was definitely a sign for you, a communication; a sharing of a vision. You may be emotionally vulnerable presently, but music and the symbolic viewing of the Native American will transform your energies. The Shaman is wise and wonderfully imaginative. He is also old-fashioned and devoted to his tradition. You are protected
A! Don’t worry, just concentrate on feeling better and know that we are all here to waiting for your return!

Imagination the divine vision. Blake
Thinking of you as always! Sx

Go with the omen for sure. it could well be a past-life link. There’s no such thing as ‘coincidence’, only Synchronicity – ask your shrink and mention Carl Jung and the scarab beetle!
